The Farm house
is located at the outskirt of Bhubaneswar in Kantabada adjacent to Chandaka
Reserve Forest approximately 1 Km from Chandaka Dampara sanctuary, which is
famous for its natural splendor and pristinely home to many wildlife species.
Also, it is at a distance of 2 Km from Jhumka Dam, a famous eco-tourism spot at
the periphery of the wild life sanctuary.

The elephant
trench constructed by the Forest Department separates the wild life sanctuary
from the Farm House in the North direction. The Farm House is spread in an area
of 15 Acres. It has various species of trees which include mango orchard
consisting of around 350 mango trees, 400 Teak wood trees, a number of medicinal
plants and other fruits bearing trees.
We grow
Dendrobium orchids comprising of 80% Earsakul Sonia, 20% Sanan white and other
different colours of orchids in Poly house. We have incorporated multi-level
irrigation system (Micro sprinklers, Fogging and Misting system) for efficient
watering. Also, we have the air circulation fans, which create a gentle breeze
and keep the orchids happy during the hot and humid tropical summer. Solar
fencing system has been erected all around the Poly house to save the valuable
orchids and the structures from wild elephants.
In addition to
orchids, we are also into bee keeping with 50 Bee boxes under the canopy of
existing mango trees, producing Vermi compost using the natural waste and
vegetables farming. In addition to active farming, we are into training of
Agriculture Students from various Agriculture Universities of Odisha.

Monalisa Mohanty
Co-Founder and Partner
Monalisa is MA, M. Phil in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations (PMIR). Worked as an Executive in the financial sector of KPMF from 1994 - 97. After that she switched over to teaching in various reputed Army and Public schools pan India. Active participant of various welfare and social activities living up to the true spirit of an Army wife. Presently into Agri farming since July, 2018.
Col Sujan Mohanty (Retd)
Founder and Advisor
An Engineer by education (B.E Civil) and an Army Officer by profession. He retired after serving the country for 22 years. Post retirement; he joined the corporate world and worked for around 05 years in Bangalore and Ahmedabad. Subsequently, he joined an Engineering Consultancy Firm as a Director and Partner in Bhubaneswar. He took a plunge into Agri-entrepreneurship in 2018.
Sonia Yedavalli
Partner
Sonia Yedavalli is a Life Science Graduate from OUAT, Bhubaneswar, she did her PG Diploma in HR as specialization and Advance Diploma in Business Management. She worked as an HR professional in the corporate sector for over ten years before deciding to spread good health and make a positive impact on people through yoga over the last eight years. Sonia leads corporate sessions and yoga workshops in different forums with an emphasis on use of yoga to alleviate stress, anxiety, and a range of other lifestyle and health issues.
How We Started
July 2017
There was always an urge to do something on our own, and get associated with such a Sector, where one could add value and contribute in the economic growth, no matter how big or small it is.
August 2017
During August 2017, started exploring various options like Disposal of solid waste, setting up an Engineering Testing Lab or farming. Homed on to do something in the field of horticulture. Due diligence and homework started by meeting the experts in the field, visiting institutions, farm houses in Odisha, Goa, North East, and Pune. Zeroed on to “Orchids Cultivation” to start with and then expand to other fields after establishing a firm foothold. Now, the idea is ready, concept chalked out but where is the land?
March 2018
Like a divine blessing; we got the permission to use the land belonging to one of my very close childhood friend’s mother. There was no looking back after that. The Project of orchids cultivation started on 01st Mar 2018 and it was completed in a record time of four and half months on 17th Jul 2018.

The Partnership Firm; Orchids n More came into existence on 25th Jun 2018.
